Christmas Break = OVER

One of the biggest perks of being a teacher are the holiday breaks! I must say that not only are the breaks a necessity... but I believe, us teachers deserve them. (I am with 23 kids for 8 hrs, 5 days a week!)

I won't lie... I didn't do too much over break - but I will say I babysat the most wonderful children, hung out in comfy pants and Ugg house slippers (one of the best Xmas gifts EVER!) and laid on the couch with my puppies....

That all came to a screeching HAULT when the alarm went off at 5:45... what a BUMMER! Back to school I went. I walked back into my classroom for the first time in over two weeks and it was the quietest it has ever been - for approximately 20 minutes...

...then my little munchkins all came running in. I was greeted with hugs, smiles, and lots of laughter. I heard, "Hey Mrs. C. you know what I got for Christmas?" or "Listen to what Santa brought me..." and all of a sudden, I didn't mind that I was dressed up, it didn't bother me that I woke up three hours earlier than I had been... I was happy where I was and loved every minute of my first day back!

The mediocre teacher tells.  The good teacher explains.  The superior teacher demonstrates.  The great teacher inspires.  ~William Arthur Ward

  1. Awww, I love this! I totally understand. I am a teacher (without a job, but a teacher!) and it's the most fun feeling when the kids come in and your worries fly out the window. I enjoy getting up at the crack of dawn to be with them all day!
